Looking for a doctor?Please contact the practice and arrange to complete a new patient registration form and health questionnaire.  You will need proof of identity and proof of address with you when you register.

Late Night Clinics
We are pleased to announce that we now hold late night appointments up until 7:30pm every Monday night. Please note that reception is closed to general queries and prescription collections.

Please try to keep your appointment and arrive at the surgery in good time. If you are unable to make your appointment, please tell us as soon as possible so we can offer your appointment to another patient.

Out of Hours
If you need to see a doctor outside normal surgery hours, please telephone the normal practice number – 01274 224 888 – and you will be directed to our emergency on-call doctor service.  Alternatively, you can call 111 for any health queries.

Test results
Please telephone after 2pm for test results.

Bowling Highfield Medical Practice has a team of highly trained staff, from Receptionists and Administration staff to GPs and Nurses, who are all comitted to providing patients with the best available care.



Dr Helen Dewhirst (f)

GP Partner


Dr Dewhirst graduated from Liverpool Medical School in 1988 and after spending time with a Practice in Derbyshire moved to Bradford and joined the Practice in 1997. Dr Dewhirst has special interest in Older People and Women’s Health.

Dr Amanda Nix (f)

GP Partner

Dr Nix graduated from Leeds Medical School in 1993 and has a special interest in Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Family Planning and Sexual Health. Dr Nix became a GP Trainer in August 2009 and works with the other GPs to support all the other teaching and training within the practice. 

Dr Clare B Hutchings (f)

GP Partner

MB, ChB, M.R.C.G.P, D.R.C.O.G, DGM

In 1999, following her training at Leeds Medical School and then the GP Training Scheme in York, Dr Hutchings came to work in BD4. She holds is a member of the Royal College of GPs and has specialist diplomas in Geriatric Medicine, Diabetes  and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Dr Hutchings is also passionate about training our future Doctors and oversees the  training of our Foundation Year 2 Doctors and GP Registrars.

Dr Sabah Malik (f)

GP Partner


Dr Malik provides usual General Medical services.  She has special interest in women’s health and contraception.  She is one of the GPs doing mum and baby clinics and is trained to insert coils and implants.  Dr Malik is also a GP and Physician Associate trainer.  She is the practice clinical lead for our Primary Care Network. 

Dr Michael Peter (m)

GP Partner 


Dr Peter joined the Practice in 2015 and has a specialist interest in minor surgery, respiratory disease and diabetes. He helps support the GP trainers in mentoring all our GP trainees on placement at the Practice

Dr Jennifer Hartley (f)

GP Partner

MBChB 2011, MRCGP 2016, Honorary Tutor for Leeds University  

Dr Hartley qualified from Leeds University in 2011 and completed her GP training in Bradford. She has an interest in medical teaching and currently trains Year Two, Year Four medical students and Dental students within the Practice.

Dr Ibrahim Mahmood (m)

GP Partner 

MBChB 2010, MRCGP 2016

Dr Mahmood qualified from Manchester University in 2010 and completed his GP training in the North East of England and Yorkshire in 2016. Dr Mahmood has an interest in mens health issues and minor surgery. Dr Mahmood is a GP Trainer  and works with the other GPs to support all the other teaching and training within the practice. He is the mentor to one of the Foundation Year Two Doctors on placement with the practice.

Dr Eleanor Greenham (f)

Salaried GP 

Dr Greenham joined the Practice in 2017 having previously worked as a Foundation Year 2 Doctor with the Practice in 2013. She has a specialist interest in elderly medicine and also trains Year One medical students at the Practice.

Dr Emmeline Chellam (f)

Salaried GP 

Dr Chellam joined the Practice in 2018 having previously trained with us back in 2011. She as a special interest in paediatric medicine. Dr Chellam also trains Year One Physician Associate Students on placement with the Practice.

Dr Rajni Jassal (f)

Salaried GP 

Dr Jassal joined the Practice in 2017 having completing her GP training with the team.
