Late Night ClinicsWe are pleased to announce that we now hold late night appointments up until 7:30pm every Monday night. Please note that reception is closed to general queries and prescription collections.
CancellationsPlease try to keep your appointment and arrive at the surgery in good time. If you are unable to make your appointment, please tell us as soon as possible so we can offer your appointment to another patient.
Out of HoursIf you need to see a doctor outside normal surgery hours, please telephone the normal practice number – 01274 224 888 – and you will be directed to our emergency on-call doctor service. Alternatively, you can call 111 for any health queries.
Test resultsPlease telephone after 2pm for test results.
Antenatal - Tuesday afternoons
This clinic is run by the midwives who will carry out general health checks throughout your pregnancy.
Anticoagulant monitoring and dosing - provided in-house - Warfarin Clinic
This clinic is held on a Thursday morning and run by our specialist advisor to support and monitor patients on warfarin therapy.
This service requires a referral by your GP
Asthma sufferers can make an appointment in this clinic to receive advice and support from our asthma care specialist nurse. Asthma patients are recalled annually for re assessment by the respiratory Nurses. Patients can make appointments themselves if they are experiencing problems with their disease.

Baby clinic with health visitor
This is a drop in clinic held by the health visitors offering advice and support for parents with young children aged 0 - 5 years. If you wish to contact the Health Visiting Team directly their telephone number is 01274 322340.
Cardio Vascular Clinic
This is a clinic run by our Practice Nurses who can advise and monitor patients with heart disease, cerebrovascular disease and peripheral vascular disease.
COPD clinic with spirometry
COPD sufferers can make an appointment in this clinic to receive advice and support from our respiratory care specialist nurse. COPD are recalled annually for re assessment by the respiratory Nurses. Patients can make appointments themselves if they are experiencing problems with their disease.
Diabetes Clinic providing insulin initiation
These specialist clinics offer advice and general health checks to patients diagnosed with diabetes: they are run by our specialist trained GP's in conjunction with our Diabetic Nurses.
District Nurse Clinics - Daily Clinics
The District Nursing team hold daily morning clinics for complex wound care. These clinics are by appointment only.
Drug and alcohol Services
Alcohol Detox Clinic - We have a specialist trained alcohol detox advisor who offers a friendly free and confidential service to our patients.
Contraception & Sexual Health Clinic
Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC - eg IUD or implant)
We provide a comprehensive service for the provision of contraceptive and sexual health screening services for registered patients.
Following the merger of the practices Bowling Hall & Highfield Medical Practice to form Bowling Highfield Medical Practice, a new website is currently being designed & the present ones updated whilst we await this. This will include contraceptive services provided at the practice, sexual health services provided at the practice, how to book same day & routine appointments including telephone and video consultations, eConsults, and how to request prescriptions including contraception. It will include a synopsis of names of doctors with qualifications and clinical interests, as well as contact details and links to Locala (the local provider of SRH in Bradford). Prior to the Covid-19 Pandemic Locala provided a clinic at Bowling Hall on a Thursday.
Minor surgery (e.g. removal of moles and skin lesions) - provided in-house
We have a fully qualified phlebotomist who takes blood tests at the doctors request and for chronic disease monitoring purposes.
Post Natal - Wednesday mornings
This clinic is run by a Doctor for mums and new babies. You will be contacted when your appointment is due for this clinic.
Social Prescribing Service
We have a Social Prescriber who attends the surgery to hold clinics for our patients. She provides a link with local services which connect people to community groups and statutory services for practical and emotional support such as tackling social isolation, lack of confidence, anxiety and stress, budgeting skills and money management and a range of mental health issues.
You can ask to see our Social Prescriber by speaking to one of our reception or clinical team. Access is by appointment only.
Smoking cessation clinic
Run by our Healthcare Assistants, this clinic gives advice and support to patients trying to give up smoking.
The Doctors do undertake work which is not covered in the NHS contract, this work includes the completion of medical reports for insurance purposes, HGV and Taxi medicals, Fostering and Adoption Medical reports etc…
These reports do incur a private work fee, please ask at reception when requesting the completion of this nature of work as to the fee that may be incurred.
