Voluntary Sector Organisations
We strive to maintain an up to date and comprehensive list of voluntary organisations who work with and support the health and social care services. You can access this list by clicking on the link above.
The above list contains details of places who offer support for;
- People with mental health illnesses, or those who care for them
- People who have been the victims of abuse
- People with learning disabilities or autism
- People who have suffered a loss and would like bereavement support
The types of support offered vary from formal counselling sessions, to group activities, housing support, carer respite and benefits advice.
There are many types of voluntary organisations in the UK. Most are one of the 180,000 registered charities, but there are also housing associations, credit unions, community interest companies, trusts, local community groups and others.
Many charities and other voluntary sector organisations work in conjunction with the NHS to provide support to people with various different backgrounds and circumstances. Many offer their services free of charge and receive funding from the NHS and charitable donations.
